Randy Nieves
Owner & Head Instructor
Randy Nieves is a seasoned martial artist and black belt in Jiu Jitsu. With a passion for coaching and sharing his knowledge. Instructing group classes and private lessons since 2018, Randy has a diverse skill set that is not confined to Jiu Jitsu alone. He has spent numerous years studying and practicing a variety of martial art styles. Including American and Thai kickboxing, folk wrestling, and greco wrestling, establishing himself as a well-rounded martial artist. Currently, he continues to refine his craft at both Vanguard Academy and Hamptons Jiu Jitsu, embodying the spirit of perpetual learning.
Through years of training, Randy has come to appreciate the significance of fundamental skills. Part of which is why his classes are attended by students of all levels. Randy believes that the best Jiu Jitsu athletes in the world have a strong base foundation. That they evolve with their own technical abilities. “Everyone can learn the basics, what makes Jiu Jitsu an art is how you use it.”
Randy is an IBJJF Certified Black Belt under Greg Melita, and Richard Byrne of Hampton Jiu Jitsu. He has also completed Safe Sport, CPR, and Refereeing courses through the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation in order to uphold the standards set by the federation, that protect the integrity of BJJ as a self defense martial art and a sport. His dedication extends to continuous learning through self-study, seminars, and competition.
As an instructor at North Fork Jiu Jitsu, Randy caters to all levels and offers private, and group-private lessons.
